For this coming school year we hope to help the lives of children who are battling the odds to overcome health problems and maintain academic success.
Being the dreamers we are, we do not want to limit our organization to this feat. We seek to improve the world of public education one role model at a time. Some of the programs we have in mind for the future include the following:
1. Expand the tutoring program to volunteer teachers who will take on one student and work exclusively with them. We hope to see this happen in all areas of the state.
2. Begin a mentoring program for at-risk youth with volunteer teachers and student teachers. With class sizes expanding every year there is a limit to the amount of attention a child can receive from their teacher. At-risk children are particularly prone to falling through the cracks. We want to do everything we can to prevent this from happening and we believe, through individual tutoring we can alleviate this problem.
