Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide hope and healing through learning one child at a time.
The Mobile Classroom will provide cost-free supplemental education to children from kindergarten to sixth grade in the event that they are falling behind. We want to help these students by implementing standards-based instruction and collaboration with families and schools. Amidst the high demands of today’s educational system, the last thing a child needs to do is fall behind academically. In many cases, goals, hopes, and motivation can keep a student going. We want to give children the opportunity to do all that they can and become all that they can be.
When a child falls behind, a domino effect ensues. Once behind, it is very difficult to get caught up again. Education plays a major role in the success of an individual and ultimately on society. Statistics show that it costs the state far more to provide for a person who drops out at 8th grade as opposed to a person who graduates high school. The Mobile Classroom seeks to ease these statistics by intervening early to ensure that our students will eventually graduate high school.
Vision

If we, as teachers, were truly to allow every student in our classroom to reach their full potential, the teacher to student ratio would be no bigger than 1:10. In typical classrooms of the 21st century where the average class size is 30 students per teacher, there would be no less than three certified teachers per classroom in our perfect vision. The opportunities for students to have one on one interactions with the teacher are
few and far between, but when they happen learning occurs at a much quicker rate.
The Mobile Classroom can help alleviate
some of the burden teachers are facing by providing quality one-on-one tutoring
to students who are considered high-risk. The typical American student is
already burdened with the typical problems associated with growing up such as
bullying, testing, and familial relationships. If you add challenges such as
illness, poverty or not being proficient in the English language, success
becomes that much harder to achieve. Through our organization, we hope to reach
out to as many students as possible to allow them to reach their full potential
and give them all the tools they need to succeed in school and life.
The Mobile Classroom’s vision is to
fulfill those needs for children who are at risk to think, “Why bother if I’m
just going to fail?” Foster Cline, MD addresses parents of struggling students
in an article named “Never Give Up! Don’t Let Statistics Rob Your Hope and
Joy.” His message to these parents is The quality of a life is measured not by
its length, but by the amount of love, accomplishment, and giving that fills
it.”
